Megadeth - The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!
The majority of the Megadeth fanbase was really pumped upon hearing the first singles off their new album and expectations skyrocketed. Would Megadeth finally release a truly great album again? If you ask me the answer is yes. “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!” shows a band that seems rejuvenated, full of enthusiasm and - this is important - anger and rage. Dave Mustaine may be the most talented musician of the original thrash movement, combining excellent technical guitar skills with the ability to write unique, memorable riffs and a knack for big hooks (even though his voice is a classic “you either love it or hate it” situation - I’m in the “love it” camp). This album is full of energy, masterful riffs and melodies that stick in your head. Megadeth have never really been gone, but it still feels a bit like a comeback. Dare I say it? Metallica wish they could still write an album this urgent and vibrant.
