Jimi Hendrix changed the way people viewed the guitar. He revolutionized not only his genre of music but also his instrument. That’s not something a lot of people can say. Many tried to copy his style over the years and you can hear traces of his sound all over rock history, but his playing stayed unique. “Experience Hendrix” is a compilation of many of his best songs and a snapshot of a career that was way too short. He was also an amazing songwriter, but if I had to pick one Jimi song as my favorite it would be “All Along The Watchtower”. The way he transformed this song and made it his own is mind blowing and shows his boundless creativity. In my opinion the best cover ever recorded.
