Alexisonfire - Otherness
Thirteen years had passed since Alexisonfire’s latest album before they returned in 2022 with “Otherness”. It’s a meticulously crafted album, one on which every moment serves a purpose and it transcends the post-hardcore label that they’re usually associated with without losing sight of the band’s personality. The interplay of the different vocalists is brilliant, spicing up the masterfully written melodies and harmonies with bursts of harshness. Reunion albums are sometimes formulaic rehashes of the old days, but Alexisonfire prove that it doesn’t have to be that way. There’s emotional depth, a sense of adventure and unbridled creativity paired with their musical sophistication and experience that resulted in a triumphant return.
