Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill
If you were consciously alive in the 90’s, it is (I think) physically impossible not to sing along when you hear “You Oughta Know”. Wherever you may be at that moment - at a bar, in the car, but preferably at a karaoke club. And I could probably say this about most of the songs on Alanis Morissette’s mega album “Jagged Little Pill”. It transformed her from Canadian teenie pop star to a worldwide phenomenon, selling approximately 33 million copies. A mind blowing number, especially these days. It was earnest, emotional, angry, beautiful. Alanis found words that millions could relate to and thanks to Glen Ballard - who co-wrote the album - she was able to package these raw emotions into incredibly catchy songs that still sound great today.
