Black Midi - Hellfire
I love it when bands that are uncompromising and truly unique are able find an audience. It keeps things interesting for us listeners and encourages fellow musicians to let their creativity run free. Black Midi has already gotten a good bit of attention - especially in their home country England - with their first two albums. Enter the third one: Hellfire. Merely calling them a rock band doesnt even come close to describing their sound. Their music is progressive in the truest sense as in not giving a damn about any conventions and pushing rocks boundaries into all kinds of musical territories. Its wild, its manic, its thrilling, its imaginative, its experimental and its hugely entertaining. Since its impossible to categorize I suggest you just go ahead and experience it. What an exciting record.
