The Replacements - Let It Be
There is probably no rock band in history more talented and simultaneously self-sabotaging than The Replacements. Their antics are almost as legendary as their music. Almost. There will always be a debate on which one their best album is, but I personally think ďLet It BeĒ is the best point of entry. Itís the perfect balance of what them so great, linking their early days with what would come later. There are still some dirty punk songs and moments of hilarity, but there are also moments of emotional depth and sheer beauty when Paul Westerberg truly showcases his exceptional songwriting skills. The Replacements never played by the music industryís or the punk sceneís rules. It may have kept them from becoming superstars, but it earned them a fanbase as devoted as few others.
