Red Hot Chili Peppers - Unlimited Love

It’s been about a week now to digest one of the most anticipated albums of the year: “Unlimited Love” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Time enough to say that it deserves a Record of the Day spot. The biggest story leading up to the release was that John Frusciante returned to the band. That is always good news. There is no bad Chili Peppers album with him and that statement stays true. He adds that certain something with his minimalist but always tasteful and heartfelt playing style and he seems to push the rest of the band’s creativity. Just like many of their previous records, it needs some time to grow and those willing to give it that time get rewarded with a great addition to their impressive discography. This is a band that is comfortable with their sound, that enjoys playing together and that is still capable of writing songs that you can’t get out of your head. There is a reason why they got so big and stayed so big for a long time.
