''Bedtime Stories'' is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Madonna, released on October 25, 1994 by Maverick Records. Madonna collaborated with Dallas Austin, Babyface, Dave Hall and Nellee Hooper, and decided to move into a more R&B direction and a generally more mainstream radio friendly sound. Madonna tried to soften her image after her sexually explicit works during ''Erotica'' period.
''Bedtime Stories'' reached the top of Australian albums chart, where it became her fifth number-one album. In the United States, the album debuted and peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 chart.
Four singles were released from the album, with "Secret" giving her record-breaking 34th consecutive top ten single in the United Kingdom and "Take a Bow" becoming her longest run chart-topping hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100.
